Arthur Ashe

In 1975 Arthur Ashe became the first black tennis player to win the Wimbledon men's singles title. Mr. Ashe died of AIDS-related pneumonia in 1993. A 28-foot tall monument commemorates Arthur Ashe in Richmond, VA.
